There are a lot of people in this world that deny that Jesus ever existed. I find this so amazing. There is so much proof of His existence that to deny it is being foolishly blind to the truth. Let’s put aside the accounts of His life in the Bible for the moment. There is a lot of non-Biblical proof that exists starting with the Jewish historian Josephus.
Another form of proof is the death of 11 of the 12 apostles and the numerous deaths of His other disciples. Again, the accounts of their deaths are found outside of the Bible. It was once said that no one will die for a lie. If Jesus didn’t exist or even do the things that are recorded in the Bible, then why would the apostles die such horrible deaths because of their belief in Jesus and his message? All but one of them was murdered because of their belief in Jesus. Now over 70 million people have died for their belief in Jesus since his ascension into Heaven.
Whether or not you believe the message that Jesus gave, to deny His very existence is ignorant. Jesus and His message have changed the world. This was accomplished without the aid of television, internet, and other forms of current technology. It was done through word of mouth and hand delivered letters. His message has had a profound impact on just about every major ancient culture to one degree or another. Yes, the impact has not always been positive but it has been profound.
If Jesus did not exist, then why would the Muslim world hate Him so much? The Koran mentions Jesus and instructs its followers to kill everyone who follows Jesus. Again, external proof that Jesus did exist.
Jesus is an historical fact. The real question is whether or not He is who He claimed to be and whether or not the Biblical account can be trusted. Posts for another day.
